Lainey Learning My Digital Studio

Hey ladies!Lainey Armstrong here learning My Digital Studio 2 with ya'll!

I am 19 years old and Sharon's daughter. I have been around this business since I was 4 years old, you would think I would know everything my mom does by home much I'm around it but that is not the case! When I was around 7 I was all into stamping and would tell people what they were doing wrong and tell them the way they needed to do it.

Well as I grew up I became less interested, less creative and grew increasingly more frustrated with crafts. Now that I'm trying to get involved again everything is changed, they don't even have the same colors anymore!

So I am basically starting all over again with learning colors, stamp sets, designer series papers, embellishments and even techniques so work with me! The key to learning is by starting slow and making sure you are going your own pace and learning whatever way is best for YOU so don't worry if it takes you a while to get the hang of it. There are so many things you can do is MDS2 I'm sure no one has mastered it and its still a learning process for everyone who uses it.

The first time I was playing around in MDS2 I became frustrated very quickly. I thought that since I'm young and can pick up any technological thing pretty quickly I didn't need my moms help, boy was I wrong!

I tried making a card and couldn't even figure out how to change the colors or where to begin. If you feel like that, DONT WORRY it takes time and it is a lot easier if you can watch someone else do it first or walk you through it.

The easiest way to start is by starting out using a template. Its easier to change the colors of things than adding a new one all together. The card that I made started out as a template, even though it doesn't have any of the same features now, I promise it's a template.

So start simple, make a normal card, use a template and just play around with adding punches on the paper, some stamps, a few embellishments, add different papers even if it doesn't match or look good at all, its just for practice.

I finally made a real card the third time I used the software and as you'll see it is very very simple. taking baby steps! There is a website called mydigitalstudio.net that is full of videos of cards made in MDS2. WATCH SOME!! it'll help.

You don't have to be creating card swap level cards right off the bat, I will probably take months to get a decent card that isn't so simple but thats because I'm still trying to play catch up and learn all the different products offered, you probably already know!

I can already see the possibilities in using the software, its very versatile and so many things you can make using it!

It is a lot faster to make a card really fast so you can make bulk cards that all look different and personalized for the people your giving them to. Scrapbooking will be easier and you can finally clear out your boxes of pictures and get them organized, if you're anything like my mom I know you'll love that!

Who wouldn't love a quick, easy way to be super crafty and impress your family and friends?! Once we learn this it'll be so easy and fast!

Talk to ya again in a few days!
Lainey
